Corona Virus Goes Crazy, Champions League Postponed Until July and August
VIVA - European soccer federation, or UEFA finally determine the fate of the remaining 2019/2020 Champions League matches. UEFA is holding a remote conference with 55 members on Wednesday 1 April 2020, local time.
The result, UEFA announced, the Champions League will likely be held in July and August 2020. The Champions League has been suspended two weeks ago. The reason is none other than because the Corona COVID-19 virus is becoming increasingly craze in Europe.
Launch Skysport, in addition to the Champions League, UEFA estimates that the Europa League can also be held in that period.
As a consequence, UEFA will postpone all international matches. The decision was also made to provide a way for domestic competition to finish the 2019-2020 season.
When postponed, the Champions League has completed the last 16 of the match. However, there have been several matches which were delayed in the second leg.
The matches are Chelsea vs Bayern Munich, Lyon vs. Juventus, Real Madrid vs. Manchester City, and Napoli vs Barcelona.
While most of the Europa League has only played the first leg of the last 16, only two matches have not yet played the last 16.
On the other hand, despite continuing the Champions League and Europa League in July and August, UEFA will most likely continue to play matches without spectators in the two tournaments, according to an Independent report.
Then, the many competitions in Europe that were postponed would cause new problems. Because, there will be many players whose contracts expire in June.
